Sometimes it’s the little things that lead to bad outcomes in baseball. That was the case Wednesday night at UFCU DischFalk Field, as Stephen F. Austin pitching put five University of Texas baserunners on with walks, which were turned into runs in the No. 4-ranked Longhorns’ 9-1 victory.

The Lumberjacks (12-14) came into the non-conference meeting having won nine of their past 10 games and were red-hot. But despite outhitting the ‘Horns (22-8) 7-6 and committing one less (1-2) error, it wasn’t enough as Texas won its fifth straight and 22nd of its last 27 contests.
