BURKEVILLE — The Cushing Bearkats (2-0) used a dominating defensive performance, holding Burkeville (0-2) to 12 plays that netted negative yards and giving up only 4 yards of total offense to the Mustangs in a dominating 62-0 victory at Roy Harper Stadium in the ’Kats first official road game of the 2020 season.

With the victory, the Bearkats surpassed their 2019 win total in a 1-9 campaign, while posting their second straight shutout to start the season. Last week Cushing slammed the door on Deweyville in a 22-0 win at home, holding the Pirates to 46 total yards. The Mustangs didn’t have as much success, managing just 2 yards on the ground and 2 more through the air.
