The thrill of 200 mile-per-hour nitro burning drag racing action heads to Pine Valley Raceway on Friday and Saturday night as the Funny Car Chaos Championship series thunders into Lufkin.
Spectator gates open at 12-noon each day and racing starts at 7 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Adult admission both days is $20, with children age 5-and-under with free admission and ages 6-12 is $5. Motorhome and RV parking is available. Pine Valley Raceway is located on FM 2497.
With expectation of over 100 race cars on the property, including the crowd favorite ground-pounding funny cars, this is a two-day family friendly experience that will likely stimulate all the fans’ senses with horsepower. This is the largest and most fast-paced drag racing event in track history, according to Pine Valley representatives.
Included in the weekend’s festivities is a jet powered dragster running both nights, nostalgia-style gassers, local racers competing in shootouts, a classic car display and fireworks show on Saturday night.
Racing action starts Friday night, as teams from across the nation will be making night time qualifying runs under the lights in a battle for position for Saturday’s eliminations.
Experiencing the funny cars ‘under the lights’ is a spectacle for fans as the nitro flames come out and burnout smoke fills the sky. Pine Valley Raceway will host final qualifying and eliminations plus a fireworks show on Saturday.
Every ticket is a pit pass at Pine Valley Raceway, which gives all spectators a first-hand look at the action both on the track and in the pit area with easy access to cars and drivers.
