Nacogdoches Dragon 7-on-7 Football

The Nacogdoches Dragon 7-on-7 football team qualified for the program’s first state bid on Saturday in Tyler by posting a 4-0 mark and winning one of two state spots that were up for grabs at the tournament held at Lindsey Park. The state tournament is set for June 24-26 in College Station.

TYLER — With only two state tournament spots up for grabs, tension was high at Lindsey Park for the Tyler 7-on-7 state qualifying tournament on Saturday.

In the end, Nacogdoches and Wylie East grabbed the two state berths. Nacogdoches won the flip after the semifinal games to claim the top seed.
