FRISCO — Ashley Kriesel's dominant weekend did not go unnoticed by voters around the league this week, as she was tabbed as the leagues' Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week in a release form the conference on Tuesday. Kriesel was instrumental in SFA's 5-0 weekend at the Shamrock Classic in Conway, Arkansas, and earns her second weekly honor of the season as a result.

The senior from Houston, Texas was untouchable for opposing batters in her three starts against UNI, Belmont and Central Arkansas, racking up 34 strikeouts against just one walk and six hits allowed in 18 innings pitched. Her sterling 0.00 ERA was aided by holding opposing batters to a .100 average against her, and she registered complete-game shutouts against Belmont and Central Arkansas. Through the first few weeks of the season, Kriesel is quietly putting together a season for the books, as she leads the Southland Conference in strikeouts (101), wins, (9), shutouts (4), complete games (6) and batting average against (.119), and ranks third in innings pitched (59.1)and fourth in hits allowed (24).

In addition to Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week honors, Kriesel was listed as a Select Top Performer by the NFCA in a weekly release on Tuesday.
