LONGVIEW — Despite building a 2-0 lead in the first two innings of Friday night’s best-of-three opener against the Hallsville All-Stars, the Nacogdoches 12U All-Stars couldn’t slow the Bobcats when it was necessary in the late innings. Despite 15 of their batters striking out, Hallsville used 10 stolen bases to charge the offensive attack that scored four runs in the fourth and fifth frames for a come-from-behind 4-2 win in Game 1 of the Dixie Youth ‘O’ Zone State Championship at Lear Park.

Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 3 were scheduled for Saturday back at Lear Park.
