The Garrison varsity boys basketball program rose to heights that it never has before this past season. Fighting in the arguably best Class 2A district in the state against, among others, defending and eventual state champion Shelbyville, the Bulldogs reached as high as No. 8 in the state and finished with an impressive 26-8 record in 2020.

The ‘Dogs are looking for another strong run next season and will do so under the leadership of 27-year coaching veteran Darren Cook who was hired late last week, GISD Director of Athletics Brandon Alvarez announced. Cook replaces Alex Cloudy, who departed this summer to take over the head coaching position in the Timpson ISD.
