Nacogdoches senior Glenn Young (32) comes up to make a stop during a 2019 Dragon football game against Kilgore. There was a bit of confusion last week as to whether the University Interscholastic League (UIL) was going to temporarily suspend the ban of broadcasting of live high school football games this fall as plans for possible cutting back on fan exposure at games this fall would cause more supporters of games across the state to miss seeing their favorite teams play.

During the UIL Legislative Council meeting on Wednesday (May 17), UIL Executive Director Dr. Charles Breithaupt announced that the UIL’s ban on live video broadcasts for regular season games on Friday night would be lifted for the 2020 season and it was reported that way by a number of media outlets.
