CUSHING — A week off didn’t slow down the Cushing Bearkats, as a stifling defense and an efficient offense helped tame the Overton Mustangs, 53-0, Friday night at J.F. Whitaker Stadium.

“After a bye week, sometimes you start out a little flat, but I thought we came out ready to play,” said Cushing head coach Josh Moore. “Defense played good and offense tuned things up to get ready for two hard weeks ahead of us.”
