CENTRAL HEIGHTS — Going through ‘growing pains’ before they hit District 21-3A play is the rough part of putting a young and inexperienced team on the floor. But despite falling to No. 15-ranked (Class 5A) Lufkin Tuesday night in Russell Gymnasium, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19, Central Heights is making progress as the Lady Blue Devils have three more matches before league action.
The Pack, which improved to 25-4 on the season, put a team much like the Lady Blue Devils have had on the floor over the past few years and it took a while for Central Heights to get up to speed. And despite being swept by Lufkin, CHHS third-year coach Logan Smoak said the competition was good for her squad.
