After getting off to a 2-0 mark in Southland Conference play, the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will take a break from league play to finish the 2019 portion of their schedule Saturday when they battle NAIA and Red River Athletic Conference member Paul Quinn College.
The matchup between the ’Jacks (10-2) and the Tigers (2-13) will tip off at 2 p.m. inside William R. Johnson Coliseum. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+, with the audio broadcast being produced by KTBQ Radio (107.7-FM).
SFA enters the game riding a three-game winning streak and a spotless 7-0 mark this season in The Sawmill. The Lumberjacks have won six of their last seven games and are coming off an 81-73 road Southland victory in Lake Charles, La. against McNeese last Saturday.
Paul Quinn has dropped its last four, including a 109-67 setback at McNeese. Quinn has lost 13 of its last 14 games on the year.
The Lumberjacks are averaging 83.1 points a game, while giving up 68.1, outscoring their opponents by an average of 15 points a contest. SFA is averaging 38.5 rebounds a contest, averaging 8.2 boards a game more than its opponents.
Three SFA players are scoring in double figures, with Kevon Harris leading the way at 17.4 ppg., followed by Gavin Kensmil and Camerono Johnson both sitting at 12.9 points a contest.
