Central Heights used a 16-2 scoring run early in the second quarter, and then finished the period with an 6-0 run to build a 22-point lead at the half, as the Blue Devils cruised past Pinewoods Community Academy, 74-47, in District 21-3A action Friday night inside Russell Gymnasium.

A number of other area high school boys teams picked up league wins on Friday as well. Chireno bumped Burkeville, 40-28 in District 28-1A action, while Douglass stopped Alto, 52-26, in District 22-A play. Garrison mowed down Mount Enterprise, 56-32, in District 22-2A action, Timpson was too much for Joaquin, 85-27, in a District 23-2A game, and Cushing dropped a 56-49 decision to New Summerfield in 22-2A. Woden and Martinsville both had byes.
