LUFKIN — Things were going the way the 18th-ranked Garrison Bulldogs hoped they would Thursday night when they blasted 13 hits and pitcher Dallas McFadden held Corrigan-Camden to just a single in a 10-0 victory in Game 1 of the best-of-three Class 2A Region III Quarterfinal round playoff at Lufkin’s Panther Field.
But after taking a 3-0 lead in Game 2 of the series immediately afterwards, Garrison began to struggle, committing six errors and fell behind 6-4 in the top of the sixth, as Corrigan picked up momentum and threatened to send the series to a third game on Saturday afternoon.
